Infinite Fitness Tip by Gerry Blais
And so another year is upon us....

The holiday season has once again taken is toll on our bodies, with all the festive cheer (food). As we all do, we decide to make a change for the better and commit to getting fit. Visions of a lean and fit body come spring time engulfs our thoughts. The uncomfortable feeling of our clothes and the brutally honest response from the mirror tells us things we don’t want to here. All those “skinny” clothes in the closet waiting to be showcased as soon as the Sun brings us some glorious warmth. Time to do something about it!

You join a Health club, or even smarter a personal training studio. Before you do anything, you have to understand that getting fit is mostly psychological. For the absolute success of your intentions you need to understand that changing your body WILL happen if you want it bad enough. It will require all your dedication and you MUST understand it will take time. The biggest mistake people make is they make unrealistic goals in the short term. The human body is only capable of dropping so much body fat in a certain time. Nutrition is a huge component to your success, whatever your goal. One huge problem is people THINK they are eating right but if asked specifically what they are eating, or even worse what they are not(more often than not)they soon realize the roadblock that has been holding them back. With all the ridiculous diets out there and magazines promoting foolish advice, it’s no wonder why the Obesity rate has risen so high over the past few decades. You ARE what you DON’T eat!

The second biggest problem is people don’t make the intelligent effort to invest in educating themselves (personal training). They think “they can do it themselves” and they refuse to see the value in it. The average time frame of a new member quitting after the New Year is 4 weeks average. Those people come in all fired up and ready to shed some fat but with no direction. The try using the machines but soon lose interest (no direction) and give in to the Cardio, group exercise classes, etc. Weight training is THE only thing that puts on muscle and muscle is THE only thing that burns body fat. Cardio is essential for a strong respiratory system and heart, as well as beneficial to several types of medical ailments. Cardio does NOT build muscle. The member gets off the Cardio all sweaty thinking they are burning body fat but MAYBE burned 600 calories in a long hour. That is not a lot of calories (about 1 slice of pizza).A tough weight training session however will burn that much BUT will continue to burn calories for several days after the workout to repair and rebuild. Cardio calorie burning ends as soon as you get off the machine.

We all need to be pushed .Most people never take themselves past their “comfort zone” and that’s what our body wants. To speed up your metabolism their must be a stimulus and to fuel that fire their must be the correct nutrients and energy (calories). Combined with all that, there must be a positive enforcement of support and encouragement.

If you wish to push your body to its inner strength and push even further, you will need someone to do that. You will need to invest in some personal training. The value of that time will be noticed and respected. They will show you what you’re capable of and change your mind and body forever.
